Amazing Mangosteen Fruit

How to enjoy
Mangosteen, "the queen of fruit."

I,m am extremely fond of this lovely fruit and have the great privilege of having my own mangosteen trees growing in my back garden in Thailand and also a Mangosteen and Lychie farm which My wife has set up which is now exporting this lovely fruit.

So its no wonder when I go on long holidays to Thailand I eat vast amounts of this fruit and feel wonderful plus the fact it has huge health benefits and the reason I thought I Would write this post.
I can honestly say eating this fruit and using in supplement form will greatly assist you to stay healthy and it makes you feel alert and vibrant. There are other exotic fruits which we grow and use and I will post about them in future posts but I feel proud to write about these fruits here and not some cheap post to sell something I have never heard of  tried. But its very expensive to import  into the UK although a lot of companies selling the juice in bottles a lot of it is watered down and has very little taste compared to the real fresh Mangosteen juice, so the best option is to use  supplements available if you want to try for yourselve.
I only wish you could grow them in the UK.
There is much info on the mangsteen fruit all over the net but I have posted below the basic info on it and a link to a supplier for supplements which I recommend.

The Exotic Fruit Called Mangosteen

The exotic fruit called mangosteen is a fruit, which has one of the biggest selection of vitamins and minerals, and not only those that actually help our bodies be healthier.
If eaten regularly, mangosteen will enhance the immune system by helping the body fight diseases and other infections as well. You can find a large collection of vitamins in the mangosteen fruit such as Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B6, potassium, and calcium to name a few.
In all actuality, mangosteen juice is a tropical juice beverage that is prepared by the liquefying of the seeds, rind and flesh of the mangosteen fruit. The mangosteen fruit has been highly praised of having the qualities of an anti-histamine, anti-aging ointment, antibiotic, anti-viral, and anti-inflammatory.
Mangosteen fruit trees are ultra-tropical trees. The fruits are minute (1-3 inches) and purple. Mangosteen fruits have two elements: the white center fruit, and the purple outer hull. The outer rind of the mangosteen fruit is bulky and purple. Mangosteen fruit has over 40 different xanthones. You can get mangosteen fruit where it is grown. Mangosteen fruit is pretty picky about shipping conditions too, though. Your local health food, whole food or import food store might have mangosteen juice. Mangosteen fruit juice is available all over the world from independent distributors and can be also purchased online.
The mangosteen plant is part of a group identified as the Guttiferae, which is a family of mostly tropical trees and vegetation that secrete a type of acrid yellow resinous juice. There is a shortage of information on the history of the mangosteen plant, in spite of of its reputation, and no one even knows precisely for sure where and when the mangosteen plant was first grown. The tree is very slow-growing and upright. The mangosteen tree doesn’t grow well in soils made of limestone and therefore does best in deep, rich organic soil.
When growth begins with a mangosteen seed, a shoot will appear from one end of the seed, and a root from the other end as well. Different than a lot of seeds, the mangosteen seed has a vegetative course of reproduction, and there is practically little change in the resulting trees and their fruits. When it comes to transplanting mangosteen seeds, the process is extremely hard, because of fragile taproot and poor lateral root growth. Mangosteen seeds are exceptionally sensitive to high levels of fertilizer, and should as an alternative be fertilized with a weaker fertilizer, or an organic fertilizer. The fruit that the mangosteen seed generates is unlike no other, as no other tropical fruit is so highly admired as that of the mangosteen.

One of the most analyzed fruits ever on record is the mangosteen, and the most influential way to gather the health rewards the mangosteen fruit has to offer is by means of pure mangosteen juice. Those that drink pure mangosteen juice, or take a supplement say they live through augmented energy, and protection against disease and illness.
There are not a lot of brand names offering 100% pure mangosteen juice, actually to the best of knowledge there is only a few. One of the most incredible things about the juice and the fruit also is that it's not the inner white part of the fruit that holds all of the nutritional and healthy value. Drinking pure mangosteen juice really is a kind of supplement you're able to gulp down all of the nutritional power of the mangosteen fruit in a powerful small serving.
The xanthones available in pure mangosteen juice leave you feeling re-energized, refreshed, and rejuvenated, all while assisting in strengthening your immune system, ward of illnesses and leaving you with a great feeling.

The History Of Beauty Treatments

During the fifteenth century in northern Europe upper class ladies painfully plucked their hairline to make their foreheads appear higher, as was a sign of beauty at the time, as well as scraping back their hair as much as possible in order to wear elaborate headdresses. In Italy the climate was much warmer, and women couldn't wear elaborate headdresses as they were far too hot. Instead, Italian women displayed their hair in plaits under low jewelled caps or turbans. At the time blond hair was considered to be the most beautiful, and many men and women tried to lighten their hair by bleaching it with saffron or onion skin dye. Italian women used to sit for hours in the sun with a crownless hat to let the sun naturally bleach their hair.
In the 16th century fashion changed. King Francis The First accidentally burned his hair, and began a trend for men of wearing their hair at a shorter length, not only on their heads, but also on their faces, sparking shortened moustache and beard styles. Queen Elizabeth was highly influential in setting styles for women at this time. Her naturally pale complexion and red hair was favoured by women in high society, who used copious amounts of white powder and red wigs to fit in. The best way to create this look was by using ceruse, otherwise known as white lead. Lead based rouge would also be used to add a touch of red to cheeks, and alabaster pencils would also be applied to lips, eyebrows and even blue veins. To hold this all together egg white paste was painted over the entire portrait a woman had created on her face, sadly all the use of lead caused skin damage, hair loss, and often death due to lead poisoning.
The eighteenth century saw yet another change to style. Men began to wear long powdered wigs tied back at the back of the neck and wrapped in a black silk bag, although a simple black bow was also acceptable. Some men wore their own hair in this fashion, although they would have looked out of place with a group of other men who would mostly have worn powdered wigs. For women the eighteenth century brought out some of the largest headdresses and hairstyles ever known. Women's hair was trimmed, crimped or curled, and powdered and decorated with bows and garlands. Later coiffures were built up over a woman's head using horse hair pads and wire cages, all of which was then starched to make it stay standing the tallest. Some hairstyles were three feet high and used springs to adjust the height should a woman find that she needed to enter a low doorway. These hairstyles took hours to prepare and required work to remake them every one to three weeks, in which time they were likely to attract vermin. In a stark movement against this formality, the herisson hair style was born, which was nothing more than a bushy mass of hair atop one's head.
The Victorian Era brought about a sense of muteness to makeup and style. Makeup was used much less and only by middle and upper class men and women. Much brighter makeup was thought of as prostitute makeup used only by them and stage actresses, for whom it was part of their job to wear the brighter makeup. Popular magazines of the time and society in general warned against the use of lead based makeup and instead promoted healthy living and hygiene through washing regularly. Women's hair during this period was oiled on top and came back to a long sausage of curls at the side, or heavy curls or plaits at the back of the head. Men of the time kept their hair relatively short, sometimes oiled, and most wore some form of moustache and maintained their beard and sideburns.
Throughout the nineties style changed more regularly throughout each decade. Today styles change three or four times a year, with older styles often coming back into fashion when decided so by fashion designers in the fashion capital of the world, France. As styles continue to change clothes seem to be covering less and less of people's bodies, and it is expected that in the future clothes will be as revealing as swimwear, if not more so.

What Water Do You Drink ?

The Purpose of setting up this blog was to be as informative as possible with useful information on health  and fitness products, advise on healthy foods and natural products, health drinks, sensible diets, exercise plans ect.
We both know personal trainers and health experts and wish to pass on important proven information which we hope is useful to those reading this blog.
As we are both very serious on our health interests and appearance and we want to share our personal experience on tried and tested products good and bad..

On this particular post we would like to share the importance of drinking  water but not just any water,
Have you ever tasted pure water?
Most tap water contains a mix of pollutants. Even bottled and filtered waters contain impurities. And the problem is, if you do not filter them out before you drink your water, your body ends up doing the filtering.
Now, few people die from tap water poisoning. But these toxins build up in your body over time and then they can start to affect your health.
The only guaranteed way to get the absolute purest water is steam distillation using a water distiller. Distilled water is 99.8% pure water. By using a water distiller you get water that is purer than any bottled or tap water and purer than any other type of filtration or purification method.
gently boiled water kills off viruses and bacteria and leaves most of the pollutants behind. The steam is then captured in a stainless steel coil where it cools to form pure water. This water then passes through an activated charcoal filter to finally remove any trace impurities.
How does it compare to bottled water?
You would be surprised at how many pollutants there are in bottled water AND it is expensive.

Most bottled water is more expensive than petrol. Using a water distiller the cost of water works out at about 9p a litre over a typical year of use.
How do water distillers compare to other forms of water purification?
The two most common other forms of filtration are activated charcoal filter and reverse osmosis. Of these reverse osmosis is the more advanced technique.

Tests show steam distillation is more effective than either carbon filtration or reverse osmosis.
A list of Common Water Impurities removed by water distillers
Organic Chemicals:
Antibiotics, Fertilisers, Pesticides, Insecticides, Herbicides, Solvents, Growth Hormones.
Inorganic Chemicals:
Hard Water Minerals, Phosphorus, Asbestos, Selenium, Sodium, Fluoride, Iron, Lead, Mercury, Barium, Nitrates, Copper, Lead, Chlorine, Arsenic.
Biological Contaminants:
Bacteria, Viruses, Chryptosporidium, Chlamydia, Giardia Cysts
Radioactive:
Radium, Strontium 90, Plutonium.

This list of impurities (above) is present in most drinking water to a greater or lesser degree. In tests the Megahome 943SBS water distiller removes 99.99% of this">"Even tap water invariably contains a variety of poisons such as chlorine, chloramine, asbestos, pesticides, flouride, copper, mercury and lead. The best way to remove these is by distilling" -Dr David Kennedy

"The only minerals that the body utilises are the organic minerals. All other types of minerals are foreign substances to the body and must be eliminated. Distilled water is the only water that can be taken into the body without damage to the tissues". - Dr Allen Banik

"The body's need for minerals is largely met through foods, not drinking water." - American Medical Association

"The greatest damage done by inorganic minerals is to the small arteries and other blood vessels of the brain (75% water). Hardening of the arteries and calcification of blood vessels starts on the day you start taking inorganic chemicals and minerals from tap water into your body." - Dr Paul Bragg

Now hopefully after reading  the above you will think carefully about  drinking  tap or bottle water ever again.
We have been drinking  pure distilled water now for 6 months and  and after just a few months we were amazed at how good we felt and our alertness was so much better and the best thing was we were loosing weight with out to much effort just by eating healthy foods and fruits, gentle exercise and drinking  2/3 liters of pure water a day as well as pure distilled water for all out our  tea and coffer .I personally have lost 20 kilos in the last 6 months and my partner has lost  25 which is wonderful and we get comments on how good we look which is so pleasing.
To under stand the importance of drinking a lot of  pure fresh water we can provide those interested with a lot more information.

We also highly recommend the Megahome water distiller we have used now for the past 6 months which we use 2/3 times  a day to make 8-12 litres of pure fresh water which is a joy to drink.
We have not touched tap water or bottled water for 6 months and  take bottles of water every where with us. Our  children drink it too and are now well educated on the importance of drinking  pure distilled water and avoiding the toxins and poisons  in our tap water. You will be amazed at the sediment and nasty residue left in the distiller after every boil.
We have now purchased a second distiller  to use the water for cooking too.
So we sincerely hope you have found this post interesting and let us know if you want  more info which we are pleased  to give and can't express  enough how important it is to drink lots of water but drinking distilled water is the best thing you can give your body just like giving your car fresh oil every service.

How Much Fat Do You Burn by Walking?

The longest held misconception about Japanese cuisine is that it is healthy and good for you no matter how much you eat. If I binge on rice and tempura everyday I will get fat if I don't control how much of it I eat. I am not a glowing example of health and fitness at all and I don't want to steal the moment away from the well balanced goodness of Japanese cuisine either, but I feel I need to clarify a few points here.
Firstly, I unhealthily consume unhealthy portions of healthy food on a daily basis, at unhealthy hours of the day. Does that mean that Japanese food isn't healthy? No. In America, I consumed unhealthy portions of unhealthy food at unhealthy times of the day and as a result I became unhealthy. However, I am less healthy now than at any other time in my life, yet at the same time I am happier than at any other time in my life.
My point is that fat people make themselves fat. Food can be whatever it is you eat. It's a personal choice how much you wish to consume. I am a professional glutton with no serious plans to slim down as of yet. I have an obligation to consume as much delicious Japanese food I can stuff down my throat. Why? Because this is Japan and I have access to all the Japanese sake and delicious seafood and noodles in the world it seems.
Typically, the way some Japanese control their weight is by limiting their portion sizes to just under 2000 kilo-calories, or less. The main staple of Japanese cuisine is white rice, pickled vegetables, and fish. Walking is the primary means of exercise here as commuters have to travel an average of 40 minutes to work one-way, and then walk upwards to 20 to 30 minutes to their workplace.
Many expatriates living and working in Japan have schedules that can be a bit hectic also, with some of us having to skip breakfast and even lunch. Food prices in Japan do not help either. Many of us cannot settle for the typical pickled vegetables, ramen, and fish every single day. We need diversity, and the only way to get satisfied that urge for ethnic cuisine is to eat out.
If you are well discipline and you can keep up with your weight by counting how many calories you consume per meal every single day, then good for you. However, I do not think this is the norm for most of us living here. Many foreigners in Japan struggle with obesity, and other food related issues and many find themselves either gaining too much weight or losing too much weight, depending on the reason.
The nice thing about living in Japan is that most restaurants list the calorie count next to the food item on the menu. You should be able to carefully manage the amount of calories you take in, and then walking is another very common form of exercise here.
One thing I love about living in Japan is that there are so many natural parks and footpaths. The scenery and cleanliness of Japanese parks are well-recognized by foreigners who have spent a considerable amount of time living in this country.
The only reasons for being obese, other than having too much stress, is laziness because there are plenty of ways to deal with your weight. On average, if you are under 160 pounds and walking briskly on a regular basis then you can expect to be burning 100 calories per mile. Results may vary depending on the frequency and the amount of food you consume. Also, the time of day you consume food. The popular trend here in Japan is to stop eating at 6:30pm, and if you feel a craving for something then eat either tofu, and fermented soybeans.
In summarily, it doesn't matter if what you eat is necessarily healthy, it's about how much of it you eat, and what you do afterwards that makes the most difference. Lots of walking and calorie counting helps. For many Japanese the walking and good diets come quite naturally.
